pharmachologic effect

Akriderm SK is a combined preparation for external use, which has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antiseptic, keratolytic effects.

Betamethasone dipropionate is a glucocorticosteroid that has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, anti-edema and antipruritic effects. It inhibits the accumulation of leukocytes, the release of lysosomal enzymes and pro-inflammatory mediators in the inflammatory focus, inhibits phagocytosis, reduces vascular tissue permeability, and prevents the formation of inflammatory edema.

Salicylic acid provides a keratolytic, antimicrobial effect, removes horny layers and promotes deeper penetration of the glucocorticosteroid.

Indications

Local treatment of dermatoses accompanied by hyperkeratosis: psoriasis, limited and diffuse neurodermatitis, lichen planus, eczema, dyshidrotic dermatitis, ichthyosis and ichthyosiform changes.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

The safety of topical use of glucocorticosteroids in pregnant women has not been established; the prescription of drugs of this group during pregnancy is justified only if the potential benefit outweighs the possible risk. During pregnancy, drugs in this group should not be used in high doses or for a long time.

It has not been established whether topical use of glucocorticosteroids can cause them to appear in mother's milk, so the issue of stopping breastfeeding should be resolved.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the drug's components, skin tuberculosis, perioral dermatitis, rosacea (rosacea), trophic ulcers against the background of chronic venous insufficiency, skin tumors (skin cancer, nevus, atheroma, epithelioma, melanoma, hemangioma, xanthoma, sarcoma) ; skin manifestations of syphilis, chickenpox, herpes simplex, post-vaccination skin reactions, open wounds, lactation, children under 1 year of age.

Side effects

With topical application of glucocorticosteroids, there may be observed: burning, irritation, dry skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acne-like rashes, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis.

With prolonged use, as well as the use of occlusive dressings - skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, prickly heat, purpura.

When applied to large body surfaces, mainly in children, systemic side effects of glucocorticosteroids and salicylates may occur.

If you experience adverse reactions that are not described in the instructions, you should consult a doctor.

Interaction

How to take, course of administration and dosage

Outwardly

Akriderm SK is applied with a thin layer on the affected skin area 2 times a day - in the morning and in the evening. A different frequency of use can be established by a doctor, based on the severity of the disease. In mild cases, it is sufficient to apply the ointment, as a rule, once a day; more severe lesions may require more frequent use.

Overdose

Acute overdose is unlikely, however, with excessive or prolonged use of the drug, a chronic overdose is possible, accompanied by signs of hypercortisolism: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible suppression of adrenal cortex function, manifestation of Cushing's syndrome.

Treatment. Appropriate symptomatic treatment is indicated. In case of chronic toxic effects, gradual withdrawal of the drug is recommended.

Special instructions

If there are signs of increased sensitivity or skin irritation associated with the use of the drug, treatment should be discontinued and the patient should be selected for adequate therapy. With prolonged treatment, when the drug is applied to extensive skin surfaces, when using occlusive dressings, as well as in children, systemic absorption of glucocorticosteroids is possible.

For children from 1 year old, the drug is prescribed only under strict indications and under medical supervision, since systemic side effects associated with betamethasone may develop. When using the drug on large surfaces and / or under an occlusive dressing, it is possible to suppress the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system and develop symptoms of hypercortisolism, there may be a decrease in the excretion of growth hormone, an increase in intracranial pressure.

On the skin of the face more often than on other surfaces of the body, after long-term treatment with topical glucocorticosteroids, atrophic changes may appear; the course of treatment in this case should not exceed 5 days.

Akriderm SK ointment is not intended for use in ophthalmology. Avoid contact with eyes.

With prolonged use of the drug, its cancellation should be carried out gradually.
