Cholenzym is a combined preparation of animal origin that normalizes the digestive process.
It has a choleretic effect.
Pancreatic enzymes (trypsin and amylase) included in the preparation facilitate the digestion of carbohydrates and proteins, which contributes to their more complete absorption in the small intestine.
Indications
Used as a choleretic and digestive enzyme for:
- chronic hepatitis
- cholecystitis
- functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract,
- biliary dyskinesia,
- chronic pancreatitis with impaired exocrine pancreatic function.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug,
- acute pancreatitis
- exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis,
- acute hepatitis
- acute dystrophy of the liver,
- exacerbation of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Side effects
The drug is usually well tolerated, but allergic reactions may occur.
When they appear, you must stop taking the drug.
Interaction
The simultaneous use of antacids containing calcium carbonate and / or magnesium hydroxide can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug.
With prolonged use, a decrease in iron absorption is possible.
How to take, course of administration and dosage
Cholenzyme is prescribed orally 1 tablet 1-3 times a day after meals.
Overdose
With prolonged use of high doses, nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, skin itching, and an increase in blood transaminases are possible.
