pharmachologic effect

Differin is a comedolytic, anti-inflammatory.

Pharmacodynamics

Adapalene is a retinoid metabolite, has comedolytic and anti-inflammatory activity, normalizes the processes of keratinization and epidermal differentiation.

The mechanism of action of adapalene is based on interaction with specific γ-receptors of epidermal skin cells. As a result of the action of adapalene, in particular, there is a decrease in the "cohesion" of epithelial cells at the mouth of the sebaceous hair follicle and a decrease in the prerequisites for the formation of microcomedones.

Adapalene has an anti-inflammatory effect in vivo and in vitro, acting on inflammatory factors by inhibiting the migration of leukocytes in the inflammation focus and the metabolism of arachidonic acid.

Pharmacokinetics

The absorption of adapalene through the skin is very low (about 4% of the applied dose). Excretion from the body occurs mainly through bile.
