Polyvalent dysentery bacteriophage is an immunobiological preparation, a phage.
Polyvalent dysenteric bacteriophage causes specific lysis of Flexner's and Sonne's Shigella, the causative agents of bacterial dysentery.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of bacterial dysentery caused by Shigella flexneri serovars 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and Shigella sonnei
Contraindications
Individual intolerance to the drug Bacteriophage dysentery.
Polyvalent dysentery bacteriophage should be used with caution in severe forms of dysentery with pronounced symptoms of intoxication, due to the possibility of strengthening the latter during mass lysis of shigella, as well as antibiotics with bactericidal action.
Side effects
The introduction of polyvalent dysentery bacteriophage should not cause any reactions.
How to take, course of administration and dosage
The drug is intended for oral administration and rectal administration.
For treatment, the drug is taken orally 3 times a day on an empty stomach 1 hour before meals from the first day of the disease for 7-10 days.

In case of dysentery, characterized by a mild colitis syndrome, and during the period of convalescence, a combination of two oral administration with a single rectal administration of a single age dose of the drug in the form of an enema after bowel movement is recommended.
For preventive purposes, the drug is recommended to be used during group diseases in organized groups and families. The optimal scheme of use is the daily intake of a single age dose. The duration of taking the drug is determined by the conditions of the epidemiological situation.
