pharmachologic effect
Filtrum®-STI is a natural enterosorbent consisting of hydrolysis products of wood components - a lignin polymer, the structural elements of which are phenylpropane and hydrocellulose derivatives.
It has a high sorbing activity and non-specific detoxification effect.
It binds and eliminates pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, drugs, poisons, heavy metal salts, alcohol, allergens, as well as an excess of certain metabolic products, including bilirubin, cholesterol, urea, metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis.
Non-toxic, non-absorbable, completely excreted from the intestine within 24 hours.Indications
Filtrum ® -STI is used as a detoxification agent in adults and children with exogenous and endogenous intoxications of various origins:
- acute poisoning with drugs, alkaloids, salts of heavy metals, alcohol and other poisons;
- complex treatment of foodborne toxicoinfections, salmonellosis, dysentery, dyspepsia;
- purulent-inflammatory diseases, accompanied by severe intoxication;
- hyperbilirubinemia and hyperazotemia (hepatic and renal failure);
- food and drug allergies;
- prevention of chronic intoxication among workers in hazardous industries.
Pregnancy and lactation
There are no data on the safety of the use of Filtrum-STI during pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindications
Individual intolerance to the drug. It is not advisable to use the drug for exacerbation of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, intestinal atony.
Side effects
Rarely - allergic reactions, constipation.
Long-term use can lead to impaired absorption of vitamins, calcium, and therefore, prophylactic administration of multivitamins and calcium preparations is recommended.
Interaction
It is possible to reduce the therapeutic effect of some simultaneously used drugs.
The drug can be used in combination therapy with other drugs, subject to the rules of separate administration.
How to take, course of administration and dosage
Inside, preferably after grinding, washed down with water an hour before meals and taking other medicines.
The dose of the drug depends on the age, body weight and severity of the disease, the drug is taken 3-4 times a day, the average single dose for children is: up to 1 year - ½ tablet; 1-3 years - ½-1 tablet; 4-7 years - 1 tablet, 7-12 years - 1-2 tablets; for adults - 2-3 tablets.
The duration of treatment in acute conditions is 3-5 days, with allergic diseases and chronic intoxications, up to 14-21 days. Repeated courses of treatment after 2 weeks on the recommendation of a doctor.Overdose
Data on an overdose of the drug are not known.
