pharmachologic effect
Pharmacodynamics
Antimicrobial derivative of nitrofuran. Bacterial flavoproteins, restoring the 5-nitro group, form highly reactive amino derivatives that can cause conformational changes in proteins (including ribosomal) and other macromolecules, leading to the death of bacteria. Active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Clostridium perfringens). Sustainability develops slowly and does not reach a high degree.
Pharmacokinetics
With external and local application, absorption is negligible. Penetrates through histohematological barriers and is evenly distributed in fluids and tissues. The main pathway of metabolism is restoration of the nitro group. It is excreted by the kidneys and partially with bile.

How to take, course of administration and dosage
Locally, externally, in the form of a 0.02% freshly prepared aqueous solution: immediately before use, one tablet (20 mg of furatsilin) is dissolved in 100 ml of distilled or warm boiled water.
For faster dissolution, hot water is recommended. Then the solution is cooled to room temperature.
Outwardly: in the form of an aqueous 0.02% solution - irrigate the wounds, apply wet dressings.
Locally: blepharitis, conjunctivitis - instillation of an aqueous 0.02% solution into the conjunctival sac. Osteomyelitis after surgery - rinsing the cavity with the subsequent application of a wet dressing.
