Composition
100g of ointment contains:
active substance - furacilin 0.2 g;
auxiliary substance - petroleum jelly up to 100 g.
pharmachologic effect
Furacilin ointment is an antimicrobial agent derived from nitrofuran.
Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis; gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp. (including Salmonella paratyphi).
Indications
- Purulent wounds
- bedsores,
- ulcers
- burns of II and III degree,
- osteomyelitis,
- empyema of the pleura,
- anaerobic infection of the wound surface,
- furuncle of the external auditory canal,
- empyema of the paranasal sinuses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, bleeding, allergic dermatoses.
Side effects
Allergic reactions. When applied externally, dermatitis.
How to take, course of administration and dosage
Outwardly. The ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.
