Composition
One suppository contains:
Active substance:
Dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine (methyluracil) - 500 mg;
Suppository base:
Solid fat (Witepsol, brands H 15, W 35, Supposir, brands NA 15, NAS 50) - until a suppository weighing 2.3 g is obtained.
pharmachologic effect
Methyluracil has anabolic activity. It has a hematopoietic, leukopoietic, immunostimulating, anti-inflammatory effect.
By normalizing nucleic acid metabolism, it accelerates the processes of regeneration in wounds, accelerating the growth and granulation maturation of tissue and epithelization (including in rapidly proliferating cells of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract), stimulates erythro- and leukopoiesis, cellular and humoral factors of immunity.
Indications
Agranulocytic tonsillitis, alimentary-toxic aleukia, chronic benzene intoxication, sluggish healing wounds, burns, bone fractures, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, chronic gastritis, hepatitis, pancreatitis, damage during radiation therapy.
Contraindications
Leukemic forms of leukemia (especially myeloid), lymphogranulomatosis, malignant diseases of the bone marrow.
Side effects
Rarely - allergic skin reactions (urticaria rash), headache, dizziness.
How to take, course of administration and dosage
Rectally.
Adults - 1-2 suppositories 1-4 times a day;
children aged 3–8 years - 1/2 suppository per day;
8–15 years old - 1 suppository per day.
The course of treatment is from 7 days to 4 months, depending on the nature of the disease.
