pharmachologic effect

Pharmaceutical group:

glucocorticosteroid + antibiotic aminoglycoside + antifungal agent.

Pimafukort is a combined preparation with antibacterial, antifungal, local anti-inflammatory effect.
Neomycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group, active against a number of gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Enterococcus spp.) And gram-negative (Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Escherichia coli, etc.) bacteria.

Natamycin refers to antifungal drugs of the polyene series, has a fungicidal effect against yeast and yeast-like fungi, especially Candida spp. Dermatomycetes are less sensitive to natamycin.

Hydrocortisone has anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictor effects.

Eliminates inflammation and itching accompanying various types of dermatoses.

Indications

  • skin mycoses - diseases with a fungal etiology (the cause is the invasion of fungal microorganisms) that affect the skin of the human body;
  • superficial dermatoses, if the causative agent of the infection is sensitive to the active ingredients of the drug;
  • pyoderma - purulent skin lesions due to invasion of pathological microorganisms;
  • complication of a secondary fungal and / or bacterial infection (eg, candidiasis);
  • otomycosis - inflammation of the external auditory canal and auricle due to damage by parasitic fungi that grow in the thickness of the skin.

Contraindications

- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Pimafukort;
- tuberculosis of the skin, skin manifestations of syphilis, viral skin infections, skin post-vaccination reactions, open wounds, ulcers;
- acne, rosacea, ichthyosis;
- anogenital itching, skin tumors.
Carefully.
Use with caution in tuberculosis (systemic damage)
- in children under 1 year of age;
- in patients with a history of indications of a lesion of the IX pair of cranial nerves with the use of aminoglycosides.
In the presence of perforation of the tympanic membrane and direct exposure of the middle ear to neomycin, there is a risk of ototoxicity.

Side effects

Side effects with external use of Pimafucort, as well as with the use of other glucocorticosteroids, are rare and reversible. Rarely, a hypersensitivity reaction (itching, burning, redness, or dryness of the skin) may develop.

Very rarely - atrophy and thinning of the skin, telangiectasia, striae, purpura, rosacea-like and perioral dermatitis, delayed wound healing, depigmentation, hypertrichosis, withdrawal syndrome after stopping treatment.

When external glucocorticosteroids are used for a long time, on large areas of the skin, or when using occlusive dressings, especially in children, side effects characteristic of systemic glucocorticosteroids, such as suppression of the function of the adrenal cortex, may develop.

Contact dermatitis to neomycin.

Interaction

No drug interactions have been described.

There may be cross-hypersensitivity between neomycin and drugs of similar chemical structure, such as kanamycin, paromomycin, gentamicin, and cross-resistance between neomycin and other antibiotics of the aminoglycoside group.

How to take, course of administration and dosage

For adults and children, Pimafukort is applied to the affected skin 2-4 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined individually, taking into account the nature of the disease, the course of treatment usually does not exceed 14 days.

In children, the drug should be applied to limited areas of the skin, do not use occlusive dressings. If there is no improvement in the condition in children and adults, after 14 days, you should consult a doctor.

In the form of a cream, the drug is recommended for the treatment of acute and subacute dermatoses, incl. accompanied by oozing. The ointment is intended for the treatment of subacute and chronic dermatoses, especially in the presence of severe dry skin, lichenification, seborrhea, or in cases where the occlusive properties of the ointment are required.

Overdose

There is no information on an overdose of the drug Pimafukort.

There is a theoretical possibility of the ototoxic effect of neomycin in the case of application of the drug to the area of the external auditory canal in the presence of perforation of the tympanic membrane and direct action of neomycin on the middle ear.

Special instructions

When applying Pimafucort to the eyelids and periorbital area, there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure and the development of cataracts.

When using the drug on large surfaces in children or under bandages, it is necessary to keep in mind the possibility of suppressing the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system.

In the case of prolonged treatment, in the presence of wounds and ulcers, there is a theoretical risk of ototoxic and nephrotoxic effects of neomycin.

If superinfection or overgrowth of fungi occurs, the drug should be discontinued and appropriate measures taken.
