Pharmacokinetics

Suction

After ingestion, the pyrantel is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After taking a single dose of 10 mg/kg of body weight, the plasma pyrantel concentration is 0.005-0.13 μg/ml for 1-3 hours.

Distribution

There is no data on the distribution of pyrantel in the body's tissues and biological fluids (theoretically, the absorption of the active substance is minimal), as well as on the possibility of releasing the active substance with breast milk.

Metabolism and excretion

Pyrantel absorbed into systemic blood flow is partially metabolized in the liver to N-methyl-1,3-propanediamin. 93% of the dose taken is excreted unchanged with feces, about 7% - with urine unchanged or as a metabolite.

Indications

  • Askaridosis;
  • ankylostomosis;
  • necatorosis;
  • enterobiosis;
  • trichocephalus.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
