Composition

Active substance:
lyophilized lysate of bacteria Escherichia coli - 6 mg;
Excipients:
propyl gallate (anhydrous) - 0.084 mg; sodium glutamate (anhydrous) - 3.03 mg; mannitol up to 60.00 mg; pregelatinized starch - 77.00 mg; magnesium stearate - 3.00 mg; mannitol - the required amount up to 200.00 mg;
Excipients of the capsule shell:
iron oxide red (E 172) - 0.01 mg; iron oxide yellow (E 172) - 0.21 mg; titanium dioxide (E 171) - 0.87 mg (colorants); gelatin up to 50.00 mg.

pharmachologic effect

Uro-Vaxom has the following action: stimulates T-lymphocytes: induces the formation of endogenous interferon; increases the content of immunoglobulin A (IgA), including in the urine.

Uro-Vaxom reduces the frequency of relapse of urinary tract infections, especially cystitis.

Indications

Combined treatment and prevention of relapse of chronic urinary tract infection, especially cystitis, regardless of the nature of the microorganism, in combination with antibiotics or antiseptics in adults and children from 4 years of age.

Pregnancy and lactation

Clinical studies in pregnant women have not been conducted.

Animal studies have not revealed a negative effect on the course of pregnancy, development of the embryo, fetus and / or postnatal development.

With regard to breastfeeding, special studies have not been conducted and information on this issue has not yet been available.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Uro-Vaxom.

Side effects

Individuals may experience minor gastrointestinal upsets (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting), skin reactions (pruritus, exanthema, erythema) and limited allergic skin reactions. Rarely, a slight fever.

In case of more serious complications, treatment should be discontinued and consult your doctor.

Interaction

Interactions with other drugs have not yet been established.

As a precaution, the drug should not be used two weeks before and within two weeks after ingestion of live vaccines.

Immunosuppressive drugs can affect the effect of the drug.

How to take, course of administration and dosage

Treatment: 1 capsule daily in the morning on an empty stomach as an additional drug for. the usual antimicrobial therapy until symptoms disappear, but not less than 10 days. The maximum duration of treatment is 3 months. 


Prevention of relapse of chronic urinary tract infection: 1 capsule daily in the morning on an empty stomach for 3 months.

If it is difficult for the child to swallow the capsule, open it and mix the contents with a drink (fruit juice, milk, etc.).
The duration of treatment or the appointment of a second course of therapy should be determined by the doctor based on the patient’s state of health.

Overdose

There are no data on overdose cases.

The nature of the drug Uro-Vax and the results of a study of its toxicity indicate that an overdose is unlikely.
