Farm action: 

The drug Valerian Forte reduces the excitability of the central nervous system.

The action is due to the content of essential oil, most of which is the ester of borneol alcohol and isovalerianic acid.

Valepotriates and alkaloids — valerin and hotinin — also have sedative properties.

Sedation is manifested slowly, but rather stably.

Valerianic acid and valepotriates have a weak antispasmodic effect.

The drug practically does not cause feelings of fatigue, does not affect mental and physical ability to work.

Increased nervous irritability, insomnia;

as part of complex therapy - functional disorders of CVS, spasms of the digestive tract.

It is not recommended to use the drug Valerian Forte due to the lack of data on the safety of use during pregnancy or lactation.

Hypersensitivity to valerian and / or to other components of the drug; depression or other conditions accompanied by inhibition of the central nervous system.

The drug Valerian Forte is usually well tolerated, but sometimes drowsiness, feelings of depression, decreased ability to work, dizziness, headache, nausea, which occur when the dose is reduced or (if they are severe) can be withdrawn, are possible.

With individual hypersensitivity to the drug, it is possible to develop local allergic reactions (rashes, itching, swelling and hyperemia of the skin).

Valerian enhances the effects of alcohol, sleeping pills, sedatives, anxiolytic and antispasmodic drugs.

Inside, adults and children over 12 years of age, 1-2 tablets 3 times a day.

The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.

Tablets should be used without chewing with a liquid.

Symptoms: headache, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, general weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, trembling of hands, dilated pupils, decreased hearing and visual acuity, a feeling of constriction in the chest are possible.

Treatment: stop using the drug, rinse the stomach, take activated charcoal.

If necessary, carry out symptomatic therapy.

During the use of the drug Valerian Forte, it is necessary to refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages.

The drug contains lactose, so it should not be used in patients with rare hereditary forms of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.

The drug contains glucose, which must be considered for patients with diabetes mellitus.

Patients who have had severe liver dysfunction or have had a serious liver disease in the past should be careful when taking the drug.

Specific sensitivity to valerian odor may occur.

Use during pregnancy or lactation. It is not recommended to use the drug due to the lack of data on the safety of use during pregnancy or lactation.
