pharmachologic effect

Valoserdin is a combined drug whose therapeutic effect is due to the pharmacological properties of the components that make up its composition. It has a sedative and antispasmodic effect.

Phenobarbital has sedative and mild hypnotic effects. Helps reduce central nervous system excitation and facilitates the onset of natural sleep, enhancing the sedative effect of other components.

Ethyl bromisovalerianate also has a sedative (like valerian effect) and antispasmodic effect.

  • increased irritability
  • insomnia
  • arterial hypertension (early stages).

Contraindications

Due to the absolute ethanol content of more than 3 g in a daily dose, Valoserdin is contraindicated in patients with liver diseases, alcoholism, traumatic brain injury and brain diseases.

Side effects

Valoserdin, as a rule, is well tolerated even with prolonged use. In some cases, drowsiness and slight dizziness may occur during the day. With prolonged use of large doses, chronic bromine poisoning may develop, characterized by the following manifestations: depressive mood, apathy, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, hemorrhagic diathesis, impaired coordination of movements.

If you experience any side (unusual) effects that are not reflected in the description, you must inform your doctor.

Interaction

The simultaneous use with antipsychotics and tranquilizers enhances, and with CNS stimulants, weakens the effect of each of the components of the drug.

Alcohol enhances the effects of Valoserdine and may increase its toxicity.

The presence of phenobarbital in the composition can induce liver enzymes, and this makes it undesirable to use it simultaneously with drugs that are metabolized in the liver, because their concentration, and therefore effectiveness, will decrease as a result of a more accelerated metabolism (indirect anticoagulants, antibiotics, sulfonamides).

Phenobarbital weakens the effect of coumarin derivatives, corticosteroids, griseofulvin, and oral contraceptives.
